There are many reasons why AC owners need air conditioning service. One of them is because their AC doesn\u2019t turn off after putting both the room and thermostat temperature on the same level. There could be two reasons behind this. One of them is that the thermostat is at fault while the other reason being that the electrical system is present outside the condensing unit. Shutting off the unit by using the AC\u2019s circuit breaker is one way of turning it off but it is not a permanent solution.   1. Check the thermostat. If it is blank, then it is the thermostat that needs to be replaced.<\/li>\n

  3. If the thermostat is not the issue and works fine with the furnace, then the wires connected to it might be the problem. To check if that is the case, turn on your AC and remove the yellow low-voltage wire from the thermostat:<\/li>\n
  4. The thermostat will need to be wired correctly, if your unit turns off. Check for cross-connected wires. If that isn\u2019t the issue, then replace the thermostat and see if that solves the problem.<\/li>\n
  5. If the AC doesn\u2019t turn off, the contacts located on the outside might be welded together. In that case, turn the AC off and pry them apart.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
