Most of the problems associated with air conditioning units such as inefficient cooling, high noise levels and dust throwing can be rectified by simply cleaning or replacing the air filter. Air filters tend to last anywhere from one to six months, depending on the season. During high use seasons such as the summer months, reusable filters should be cleaned at least once a month, preferably with an air blower as contact cleaners can cause damage to the surface lining.<\/p>\n
AC units are composed of several mechanical parts and motors such as the compressor. Like all moving parts, they are susceptible to wear and tear due to friction. Regular lubrication is necessary to assure proper functioning; lubricants such as WD-40 and lithium grease are recommended. Also check for cracks or any other irregularities within the compressor motor blades, replacing them as necessary.<\/p>\n
