During extreme temperature, the cost of all cooling machines including AC, refrigerator, freezer, and water cooling system can account to around half of your energy bills. However, you can reduce these energy costs by adapting to a few simple solutions.<\/p>\n<h2>Avoid the Ghost Load<\/h2>\n<p>Ghost load refers to the consumption of energy when you are not actually using the machine. There are two ways to control the ghost load. The first one is to turn off the AC when the room reaches the required temperature. However, this method is not always effective, especially when you are sleeping or not in the house. The second technique is to install a programmable thermostat, which adjusts to the temperature of room. A programmable thermostat can help reduce the energy bills by 10% yearly.<\/p>\n<h2>Clean or Change the Coils<\/h2>\n<p>Cleaning or changing the coils is an essential part of AC service. The carbon and metallic debris collects on the coils, like refrigerant coils and pipes, and clogs them. It reduces the automated cooling system of the machine and will lead to a decrease in the energy bills.<\/p>\n<h2>Repair the Pipes<\/h2>\n<p>One of the biggest reasons for high energy bills are broken or leaked pipes. Cracked insulation allows free exchange of hot air into the house. The AC works for extra hours to adjust the temperature. This leads to high bills.<\/p>\n<p>Well-insulated houses tend to have lower energy bills than the houses with cracked walls and open slits under doors and windows.
