However, if your refrigerant is low, you\u2019ll notice it takes longer to cool your home down.<\/p>\n<p>You can tell if you have a refrigerant leak if your air conditioning unit is blowing warm air, has a low airflow or is making a hissing sound. While these may signal a variety of problems, most signs point to a refrigerant leak. These leaks can also happen if your coils are frozen because of condensation. If you have frozen coils and neglect to get them fixed, it could lead to a significant system shut down that requires the help of an air conditioning repair company.<\/p>\n<p>While adding additional refrigerant may seem like a cheap-fix, it won\u2019t solve the overarching problem. This is also not recommended, as sometimes adding sealant can cause blockages in the system, resulting in extra damage.
