When it’s time to replace your roof, there is no reason to stick with the type of roof that was there before (unless you loved it). Metal-<\/strong> There are barns that have lasted more than a century with metal roofing proving that metal is one of the most durable forms of roofing. Most metal roofs are made from aluminum; however copper is another popular, though more costly, choice.<\/p>\n

Tiling-<\/strong> Roof Tiles can be made from clay, concrete, or fiber cement. This ancient roofing technique has been made modern and lasts more than 50 years. Tiles are also fire and insect resistant; however, they are not as varied as shingles and are more expensive to install.<\/p>\n

Slate-<\/strong> The best roofing material is slate because it is luxurious and guaranteed to last the lifetime of the home with very little maintenance. Slate increases the resale value of a house but is very costly to install due to weight. Slate can also break if walked on and is not the best option for roofs with overhanging trees.<\/p>\n
