Also test\u00a0new faucets, showers and other water sources.<\/li>\n<li>Spend a couple of hours sorting through all the\u00a0paperwork and warranty cards. Fill out and return the warranty information\u00a0as soon as possible. This is an important step in case of a problem or manufacturer\u2019s\u00a0recall. Keep all manuals and brochures for future reference.<\/li>\n<li>Along with the manuals and brochures, make sure to retain\u00a0additional\u00a0pertinent information including blueprints, permits,\u00a0paint and flooring names and colors, contractor\u2019s contact information, punch lists and receipts. Dedicate a specific drawer, file or box for easy access.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure you keep all leftover materials such as\u00a0tile, wallpaper and paint.You never know when a repair will need to be made in the future.<\/li>\n<li>Call your insurance agent and add the cost of the remodel onto your homeowner\u2019s policy. This needs to be done any time a major purchase is made for your property.<\/li>\n<li>In addition to checking the manuals,\u00a0don\u2019t hesitate to ask your design-build project manager for detailed maintenance information. Discuss specific cleaning products and maintenance\u00a0schedules.<\/li>\n<li>Double check with your city or county building department that all required documentation has been correctly filed.
